GMC Women's Golf Hosts Isabella Samples

GMC Women's Golf Hosts Isabella Samples

On Monday, November 20th, the Georgia Military College Women's Golf program played host to Isabella Samples from Loganville, GA.  The GMC Athletic Department is starting a new Women's Golf program and Isabella was the third official visit.  Isabella competes for Walnut Grove High School (5A) and will be starting her senior season in January 2018.  Since her Freshmen year she has played in either the first or second spot on the girls golf team with a consistent scoring average of 42 in her HS career.  Her career highlights include shooting a personal best, 76 at Reynolds Plantation in an Athens Area Junior Golf tour as well as being selected as a 5A Member of the 2017 All-State Girls Golf team.

Her off the course intersts include being involved with the 'Love Where You Live' mission project of First Baptist Church of Monroe as well as being involved in other campus activities such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle.

"There are several things that caught our interest in Isabella.  Not only is her golf swing very solid and her tournament play experience invaluable, the fact that she is a leader with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes speaks to the type of character we are wanting in our student athletes that are on the roster of our Women's Golf program.  She has been playing golf for quite some time now and we believe that she would be a great fit for us here at GMC", commented Coach Sean Gillespie.
