GMC Women's Golf gets commitment from Josie Sherrell

The GMC JC Women's golf team is pleased to announce that Josie Sherrell from Mount de Sales Academy in Macon, Georgia has committed to the new program to start in Fall of 2018.  Josie will be bringing with her a passion for the game of golf and alot of upside.  "Immediately after meeting Josie and her family it was clear that this was the type of student athlete that we want to help start this new women's program here at Georgia Military College.  Her enthusiasm and engery will be one that will drive her to compete both in and out of the classroom", stated Sean Gillespie, Women's Golf Coach.  

Josie has played golf since she was in the 9th grade and has shown progress each year.  "We had a chance to hit balls in our indoor facility on the Full Swing Golf Simulator and she showed alot of promise....great fundamentals and very athletic. We are super excited about the potential we see in her....the sky is the limit!", stated Coach Gillespie.

Not only has Josie been involved in various sports in High school but she has been actively involved the the Pep club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Some of her hobbies include deer and dove hunting. 

The Women's Golf team is slated to start competing in the fall of 2018.
