THREE GMC PLAYERS SIGN NLI TO CONTINUE THEIR PLAYING CAREERS AT MARTIN METHODIST

Three GMC women soccer athletes signed their national letters of intent to continue their playing careers at Martin Methodist College. The three players are Gabby Kennedy, Adisa Nwawel, and Tabitha Hatem. While competing for GMC, all three athletes made significant contributions to the women's soccer team's success. These three players helped guide the GMC program to new heights.

Gabby Kennedy joined the team for the 2018 season. She quickly became one of the top goalkeepers in the GCAA conference for the 2018 season, as she was third in total goals against with 11 goals given up, and fourth in goals against average with 1.47. Gabby will be leaving GMC as a freshman so she will still have three years of eligibility remaining to play at Martin Methodist. Gabby split time at her goal keeping duties with sophomore keeper Cassidy Norman but Gabby was always known to put her teammates above herself as a player. Gabby won the team MVP award for the 2018 season and continues to serve as a leader both on and off the field. Gabby plans to major in sport science while at Martin Methodist.

Adisa Nwawel came to GMC from Cameroon. She was the starting striker in both the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Adisa was a goal scoring machine as she led the NJCAA in goals scored with 42 goals in the 2017 season and 36 goals in 2018 (6th in the NJCAA). Adisa was also named to the first team all-conference teams in both 2017 and 2018. She was named first team All-American in 2017 and was named to the 2018 second team All-American team. Adisa plans to major in nursing while at Martin Methodist.

Tabitha (Tabby) Hatem was the starting center back for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. During her playing time at GMC, she helped lead the GMC women's soccer team to back to back conference final appearances and the conference title in 2017. The conference title win, in 2017, placed the GMC women's soccer team in the national tournament. In the 2017 season, Tabby scored 1 goal and added 5 assists and then continued on to add 2 goals and 4 assists in the 2018 season. Tabby was named to the first team all-conference team in both 2017 and 2018 and also was selected as team captain for both seasons. Tabby plans to major in exercise science while at Martin Methodist.
