Women’s Soccer One Step Away

GMC Women's Soccer (11-8-1) lost in the District Championship game to #2 ranked Eastern Florida. While the Bulldogs battled hard they were not able to overcome the offensive attack of the Titans who boast one of the top offenses in NJCAA Soccer.

The game was tight early and the Bulldogs had some chances but at the 18-minute mark, Eastern Florida scored their first of five goals. The Titans scored two more in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs had some solid play from Keeper, Havyn Isaac, who was tested often throughout the game and recorded 14 saves.

The Bulldogs came out in the second half and put together an offensive attack but were turned away by the Titans goalie. The Titan's would score two more in the half to take a 5-0 win and advance to the NJCAA National Tournament.

Though the season is over the Bulldogs have a lot to be proud of, making it to the District Championship is no easy feat coming out of Region 17. Besides, the Bulldogs have just three sophomores in the starting lineup and with the Region 17 "Player of The Year" Annah Norman and Region 17 "Scoring Champ" Emma Snider being just freshman the future looks bright.

The coaches will now turn their focus to recruiting for 2020.  Training is set to resume soon along with a host of recruiting events to include the "Bulldog ID Camp" on December 7. For more information about the upcoming ID camp click HERE.
