GMC Bulldogs Land five on NJCAA All-American Teams

After a successful fall, the Bulldogs captured 3 Regional Championships, 1 Regional Runner-Up and an overall winning percentage of just under 70% across all five sports. The Bulldogs were rewarded heavily as the All-American teams where announced, five Bulldogs garnered All American honors for the 2019 fall season.      

Juan David Herrera was awarded 2nd team honors after leading the men's soccer team to a Region 17 championship. Herrera's 25 goals ranked him third in the country and his 59 points were fourth. He is the fifth GMC Men's Soccer All-American in the last four years. Annah Norman earned Honorable Mention All-American Status for the Women's Soccer team. She was the Region 17 Player of the Year after leading the defense to an impressive 7 shutouts and a GAA of 1.32. Annah becomes the 3rd All-American for the GMC Women's Soccer team.  

Three football players also earned All-American Honors.  Torenio Davis Earned 1st Team honors, he led the Bulldogs in receiving yards, receiving TD's and yards per catch. His 22.4 yards per catch placed him at #4 in the country. Offensive lineman, Trevor Reid also earned 1st team Honors. His play helped the Bulldog offense achieve a top 10 national ranking in Scoring 414 pts and points per game 37.6. Yaya Diaby earned 1st team honors for his outstanding play. He was a key part of a defense that ranked #5 in the nation with a stingy 14.9 points allowed per game. Diaby led the team in tackles and tackles for a loss. This trio is the 7,8th and 9th football All-Americans in the last 5 years.    

The Bulldogs rifle team is performing well this winter and preparing for a National Championship run, while the spring teams are getting underway. After making the Regional Championship game in 2019 Softball is hoping to take the next step and make a trip back to Utah. While men's golf is in a good position to defend their 2019 National Championship and the women's golf team will be beginning their second season are primed to take the next step.
