The #23 GMC JC Football Team (4-1) went on the road and beat #7 DuPage College (3-1) in a total team effort on Saturday, 24-12. The Bulldogs have run their win streak now to 4 in a row and stand at 4-1 on the season. DuPage College dropped their first game of the year with the loss.
The GMC Bulldog defense came up big yet again as they were able to hold the host DuPage College to 218 total yards with 153 yards coming on the ground on 31 attempts and only 65 yards in the air. The Caparrals came into the game averaging over 450 yards of team offense. The game was full of big stops and solid play on defensive sid e of the ball. The Bulldog defense sacked the Chaparral quarterback 3 times in the game for a total of 31 yards lost. The strong defensive effort was let by Jalen Wade (SO, Lincolnton GA) and Maurice Williams (SO, Clarkston GA) who had 8 and 7 tackles respectively. After giving up a touchdown in the 1st quarter the defense didn't budge for the rest of the game as DuPage were only able to muster a field goal in the 4th quarter.
Not to be outdone, the Bulldog offense had another strong showing as they tallied a total of 503 yards with 3 TD's. Cameron Rosendahl was flawless in his performance with a 21 for 29 attempt, 319 yard passing performance. Rosendahl also rushed for 45 yards and a TD. The DuPage College Chapparals were giving up only 150 yards per game until Saturday. Isaac Zico and Major Bellamy were the primary beneficaries of Rosendahl's passing game with each having 7 and 9 catches for 123 and 94 yards each. The GMC ground attack was on point as they grounded out 187 yards and 3 TD's spread between 5 Bulldogs. Nathaniel Harvey (SO, Knightdale NC) rushed for 77 yards on 11 carries and a TD.
The GMC Bulldogs have another short week as they will be headed to Miami to take on ASA College Miami to try and stretch their win streak to 5 games. The game is scheduled for a 1pm (ET) kickoff and it can be seen in its' entirety online at www.jockjivesports.net.
