Roy Upchurch is entering his 7th season of coaching with experience on and off the field Upchurch also worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of South Carolina in January 2016. Upchurch has had a variety of experiences since graduating from Alabama in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Science. Recognized as the University of Alabama's "Iron Man of the Year" for 2008-09 and a member of the 2009 Crimson Tide National Championship Team. Upchurch has served as a speed and agility consultant at JDPI Sports Performance in Tuscaloosa from 2011-13. He also worked as Quality Control for Florida State football staff in 2013, helping the Seminoles to the BCS National Title. Upchurch also coached at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. helping recruits and student athletes. A standout prep athlete, Upchurch was the Tallahassee Quaterback Club Athlete of the Year in 2005 and was honored as PARADE All-American and had his jersey No. 5 permantely retired at Amos P. Godby High School.
Roy is married to the former Tamia Johnson of Birmingham, AL. They have two children, Royal and Royce Upchurch.
