Three Shooters Attain Personal Bests

Georgia Military College Rifle Team traveled to the University of North Georgia this past weekend shooting at the Col. Raymond C. Hamilton Rifle Range. 

The University of North Georgia took their fifth win in the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference with a 4482 over Wofford  College 4451 and Citadel Men 4432.

Georgia Military College presented their top four shooters with a total aggregate of 4268.  Liliana Reyes from Baldwin High School was top shooter with a score of 555 in air rifle and 534 in small bore.  Cadet Taylor Thornton from Lyan Ward Military Academy in Alabama had a 549 in air rifle and 498 in small bore. Cadet Donald Preston from Palmetto High School in Florida had a 548 in air rifle and 525 in small bore.  Cadet Destin Owens from Harris County High School in Georgia had a 547 in air rifle and a 500 in small bore.   This was Cadet Owen's personal best in the air rifle.

Other shooters from Georgia Military College were Cadet Sarah Conners from Calloway High School in Georgia with a 542 in air rifle and a 510 in small bore; Cadet Johnny Nguyen from Riverside Military Academy in Georgia with a 524 in air rifle and a 465 in small bore; Cadet Drae Robinson from Merritt Island High School in Florida with a 520 in air rifle and a 481 in small bore and Cadet Alex Marroquin from Carrollton High School in Georgia with a 492 in air rifle.  Cadet Conners and Cadet Marroquin shot personal bests in this match.

Other colleges shooting in SEARC were Georgia Southern University with a 4387 and Citadel Women with a 4345.

Georgia Military College Rifle Team will be competing in the Georgia State Championships on February 13, 2016 at the University of North Georgia.
