LTC (Ret) Clayton is a graduate of Bradwell Institute which prepared him for the rigors of a college education.  He studied at Georgia Military College where he received an Associate Degree in General Studies and graduated as a Distinguished Military Student.  He furthered his education at Georgia College where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education and graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate.  LTC (Ret) Clayton immediately entered the service of the Army where he served the nation for 28 years in many different assignments throughout the United States and in several foreign countries. 

As a young officer, LTC Clayton studied the art of shooting and became an expert with his personal weapon, the M16.  Later in his career, he was required to use the 45 caliber pistol where he also became an expert with his personal weapon.  Finally, in the latter years of his service in the Army, the Army went to the 9mm for the side arm for its officers and LTC Clayton again shot expert with that weapon as well.

LTC (Ret) Clayton brings his understanding of shooting to the rifle team here at Georgia Military College where he assists by providing his knowledge of the art of shooting to the team members of our nationally recognized rifle team.  LTC (Ret) Clayton began working with the GMC Rifle Team in September of 2014 and begins his sixth year coaching the GMC Rifle Team.
