Georgia Military College Softball Splits Action‑Packed Doubleheader

Georgia Military College Softball delivered a solid showing over the weekend, splitting a doubleheader against Georgia Highlands College. The Bulldogs opened the day with an impressive 11–8 victory before falling 12–4 in the second game.

GMC set the tone early in Game One, scoring three runs in the opening inning. Jayna Kearson ignited the offense with an RBI double, and Sophia Boutelle followed with a two‑run sacrifice fly to give the Bulldogs quick momentum. The team continued to apply pressure in the third inning, adding two more runs on RBI hits from Boutelle and Claire Clements.

Georgia Highlands tied the game in the fifth, but the Bulldogs responded immediately. A defensive error allowed two GMC runners to score in the sixth, and Boutelle delivered again with an RBI single to help secure the 11–8 win.

Clements went the distance in the circle, striking out six over seven innings. The Bulldogs collected 13 hits, with multi‑hit performances from Kearson, Kylee Keck, Olivia Bridger, Boutelle, and Ella Ashley. Boutelle led the team with three RBIs.

The momentum shifted in the second game as Georgia Highlands capitalized on early scoring opportunities to build a lead. The Bulldogs battled with a four‑run fifth inning, but couldn't close the gap.
Despite the loss, GMC continued to show discipline at the plate and resilience throughout the contest.

The Bulldogs return home on Tuesday to host South Georgia State College. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
