GMC Men’s Golf Takes 2nd at Visit Milledgeville Invitational

 

Milledgeville, GA — The Georgia Military College Men's Golf team delivered a strong overall performance at the Visit Milledgeville Invitational, placing four golfers inside the top ten and securing a second‑place team finish. The Bulldogs showed consistency and depth throughout the two‑round event, putting together one of their most balanced outings of the spring.

GMC was led by Gavin Gignilliat, who posted steady back‑to‑back rounds of 72 to finish with a total score of 144. His effort placed him fourth overall and provided the Bulldogs with a reliable anchor at the top of the lineup. Close behind was Levi Gregg, who turned in rounds of 72 and 74 for a 146 total, earning him a fifth‑place finish and a spot alongside Gignilliat on the All‑Tournament Team. Riley Campbell added to GMC's strong presence near the top of the leaderboard by shooting 74 and 73 for a combined 147, placing him sixth and giving the Bulldogs three golfers inside the top six.

Rounding out GMC's top‑ten performers, Tripp Dye produced a notable second‑round improvement, following his opening 78 with a 73 to finish at 151 and secure tenth place. His strong finish helped solidify GMC's second‑place team standing.

Beyond the top ten, GMC continued to demonstrate its depth. Colin Halligan finished with rounds of 76 and 78 for a 154 total, placing him 12th, while Hayden Hardy followed closely behind with a 155 after rounds of 77 and 78 to claim 13th. Drew Bentley posted a significant improvement on day two, shooting 82 followed by a 78 to finish at 160 and in 19th place. Cameron Drew rounded out GMC's competitors with rounds of 80 and 82 for a 162 total, placing him 21st.

Across the board, the Bulldogs showed consistent scoring and meaningful round‑to‑round improvement, a combination that positions the team well as it continues into the heart of the spring season.
