Milledgeville, Ga. — The Georgia Military College Women's Golf team turned in a strong performance this week at the SCAD Cup, highlighted by a career-best outing from freshman Karlie Hoffman and a fourth straight top-15 finish from Marissa Holder.
Hoffman birdied the opening hole of the tournament on her way to posting the lowest round of her collegiate career, powered by consistent play off the tee and excellent putting throughout the event. Her career-low score marks a significant milestone and reflects the work she has put in since joining the program.
Holder opened with a 79 to put herself in early contention, but she struggled to adjust to the greens in round two. A late-round uncharacteristic miscue kept her from securing her fourth consecutive top-10 finish.
With the regular season now complete, every shot means a little more as the Bulldogs head to the NJCAA Southeast District Championship at Mystic Dunes Golf Club, April 12–14. On the line is a chance to compete in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament.
