MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Despite challenging conditions and a rain‑shortened format, the Georgia Military College men's golf team delivered a solid performance at the Sandhills Invitational, finishing 7th in a strong field of teams.
Sophomore Gavin Gignilliat led GMC with a 76, good for a T10 individual finish. He opened with a 40 on the front nine before firing an impressive 36 on the back. Gignilliat's round featured multiple momentum‑building birdies, ultimately tying teammate Riley Campbell for the most birdies on the team.
Freshman Hayden Hardy turned in a strong performance of his own, carding a 78. Hardy matched Gignilliat's front‑nine 40 and closed with a 38 on the back, highlighted by several clutch par saves in the wet conditions.
Levi Gregg and Riley Campbell each posted rounds of 80 to round out GMC's team scoring. Tripp Dye (81) and Colin Halligan (84) also competed for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs will next tee it up at the Cleveland State Invitational at Nob North Golf Course, March 22–24.
