The Georgia Military College men's golf team put together a championship performance once again, claiming its 10th GCAA Championship and earning a berth to the NJCAA Division III National Championship. The Bulldogs seized control in the opening round and never let it slip, closing the tournament with an impressive three-under-par team round of 285 to pull away from the field and win by 56 strokes.
Leading the way was Riley Campbell, whose steady play and hot putter set the tone for the entire event. Campbell opened the tournament with a brilliant 69 and followed it with a 71 to finish at four-under-par 140, capturing the individual championship and earning the first collegiate tournament victory of his career. From the opening tee shot to the final putt, Campbell stayed aggressive and confident, recording eight birdies during the championship and providing momentum the Bulldogs fed off throughout both rounds.
Georgia Military College's success was built on depth and resilience across the lineup. Tripp Dye continued his stretch of strong play, posting rounds of 71 and 72 to finish at 143, just three shots behind Campbell. Gavin Gignilliat also delivered a strong performance, opening with a 71 and fighting through a challenging second round to finish at 148 in third place.
One of the biggest sparks of the championship came from Hayden Hardy, who turned in the lowest round of the tournament with a four-under-par 68 in the final round. After a difficult opening round, Hardy responded, carding five birdies and an eagle, exemplifying the toughness and perseverance that have defined Georgia Military College's championship run. Levi Gregg added to the effort with a solid bounce-back second round of 74, after a tough opener, once again showcasing the Bulldogs' ability to respond under pressure.
As a team, Georgia Military College finished with a total of 575, improving from a 290 in round one to three-under-par 285 in the final round. Oxford College of Emory University placed second at 631, while Andrew College finished third with a score of 691.
The victory marks a significant milestone for the program, as the Bulldogs captured their 10th GCAA Championship and secured a spot in their 18th NJCAA Division III National Championship. The celebration will be brief, as Georgia Military College now turns its attention toward June and a return trip to Chautauqua, New York, where the Bulldogs will look to add a fourth national championship to their storied history.
