Bulldogs Clinch Back-to-Back GCAA Regular Season Championships

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. —

Georgia Military College softball clinched its second consecutive GCAA Regular Season Championship on Saturday, sweeping Andrew College in convincing fashion at Couch Field. The pair of wins secured back-to-back conference titles for the Bulldogs and improved their GCAA record to 20–2.

Ana Land led the way with an explosive offensive day as the Bulldogs opened the doubleheader with a dominant 13–1 victory. Land drove in five runs on two hits, doubling in the first inning to score a run before delivering the decisive blow in the third inning with a grand slam to center field as part of a nine-run surge.

Georgia Military College struck first in the opening frame as Sophia Boutelle lifted a sacrifice fly, Land lined an RBI double, and Claire Clements added an RBI double to give the Bulldogs an early 3–0 advantage. An error in the second inning pushed the lead to 4–0 before GMC broke the game wide open in the third. Clements launched a two-run home run, Kaden Bradford worked a bases-loaded walk, two runs scored on Andrew College miscues, and Land capped the inning with her grand slam.

Clements earned the win in the circle, surrendering just three hits and one run across five innings while striking out seven. She was equally sharp at the plate, finishing a perfect 3-for-3. Ella Ashley added two hits as GMC totaled 11 hits in the opener. Olivia Bridger was aggressive on the base paths, swiping two bases as part of a three-steal effort, and the Bulldogs' defense was flawless, committing no errors.

The momentum carried into game two, where Georgia Military College secured a 9–1 win behind a five-run second inning. Bridger ignited the rally with a two-run home run, Land followed with an RBI single, and Clements crushed her second two-run homer of the day to put GMC firmly in control.

The Bulldogs also capitalized early in the first inning, scoring three runs on a pair of Andrew College errors and an RBI groundout by Boutelle. Meredith Durden started in the circle for GMC and delivered a steady performance, allowing one run on five hits over five innings while striking out one.

Offensively, GMC once again tallied 11 hits, with Bradford and Land each collecting two. Bridger led all hitters with three runs batted in, and the Bulldogs' defense turned two double plays to close out the sweep.

Georgia Military College will wrap up the regular season this week with a three-game series against East Georgia State College. The Bulldogs return to Couch Field on Saturday to celebrate Sophomore Day, with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Come out and help honor the sophomores as GMC prepares for postseason play.
