Kearson’s Big Day Propels GMC Past East Georgia State, 9–2

Milledgeville, Ga. — Georgia Military College delivered a complete and commanding performance on Friday, May 1, 2026, as Jayna Kearson's standout day at the plate powered GMC to a 9–2 victory over East Georgia State College.

Kearson led the Bulldogs offensively, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single while driving in multiple runs. East Georgia State opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning, but Georgia Military College responded immediately. Kearson's two-run double in the bottom of the inning sparked the GMC offense, and Ana Land followed with an RBI single to give the Bulldogs a 3–1 lead.

The Bulldogs continued to apply pressure in the second inning, extending its advantage through a blend of timely hitting and disciplined at-bats. RBI hits from Olivia Bridger and Kearson, coupled with bases-loaded walks drawn by Sophia Boutelle and Kayleigh Hester, pushed GMC further ahead. East Georgia State briefly trimmed the deficit with a solo home run in the third inning, but Georgia Military College answered decisively when Boutelle launched a two-run home run to center field, stretching the lead to 9–2.

In the circle, Claire Clements turned in a strong performance for Georgia Military College, allowing just four hits and two runs while striking out four. Defensively, the Bulldogs remained sharp throughout the contest, turning a key double play and limiting additional scoring opportunities.

Georgia Military College will close out the season on Saturday, May 2, with a home doubleheader against the Bobcats. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
